Following the success of the EV charging network and importation to Barbados, Megapower was comissioned to rollout a similar project in Grenada with Grenlec. This was an exciting project with the support of the Grenada government, and has heralded a new awareness of zero emission vehicles to the island.

Going to Grenada

Cars and Charging

Working in the Caribbean

The charging infrastructure was built including floor mounted chargers and the creation of the payed network with training in the back office. This utilised RFID cards as rolled out in Barbados as well and will allow customers to quickly and easily charge their cars while on the move.

Additionally, we supplied two electric Nissan LEAFs and one electric Nissan van to add to the Grenlec fleet.

The Caribbean is the ideal region for the mass adoption EVs. Working with these projects across the Caribbean has shown that every island is different but that any challenge can be overcome. In publicising these successes, we are increasing the impact we have on the education of renewable and alternative transport methods.

For more information about the Grenlec project, here is their press release, and we have included some of their photos and videos from their publicity campaigns after our work had been completed.
